Regional Aircraft Leasing & Asset Management

Aerlinks provide innovative and flexible lease solutions for both new and used regional aircraft to operators worldwide. We also provide financiers and investors with the asset management services to manage their regional aircraft assets.

Airlines are moving in increased numbers towards operating leases as the principal source of growing and renewing their fleets. Currently Lessors own around 52% of the global commercial fleet.

Operating leases give airlines significantly enhanced flexibility and improve their risk profile from a capacity management perspective which is key to running a successful and profitable airline.

We focus on Regional Aircraft

Regional Aircraft with a capacity of between 50 and 150 seats is our chosen niche in the commercial aircraft leasing space. Currently this market consists of around 2,500 turboprops and over 3,000 regional jets. These types of aircraft play a crucial role in linking secondary cities and more remote locations to larger urban centres. In the post-covid world, smaller aircraft are also being deployed to fulfil lower demand off-peak services and to increase the frequency of connection between larger cities. In addition, these smaller aircraft are increasingly servicing certain routes that were formerly operated by larger aircraft. As such, the size and scope of our chosen marketplace is increasing. According to industry analysts and certain aircraft manufacturers, 10,950 new aircraft up to 150 seats will be needed over the next 20 years with a market value of $650 Billion.  Replacement of ageing aircraft will account for 57% of all new deliveries, while 43% will be needed to support new routes and growing markets.

Based on the rapid return to service after Covid, the regional aircraft sector has proven itself yet again to be more resilient and less sensitive to the impact of economic shocks and other external factors than the larger aircraft market. This is due to its primary purpose of serving essential travel needs. On a macro level, however, the wider growth trends at a global and regional level do also have a strong impact on the market.

In the more mature and developed markets such as Europe and North America, the growth in regional aircraft is being driven by customers’ demand for more frequency and by customers desiring to avoid many of the larger congested airports. In practice, this means airlines are right-sizing their fleets, by using more regional aircraft instead of narrow bodies to increase the frequency with similar overall capacity. They are also using regional aircraft to offer more point-to-point services in low-volume markets. Furthermore, airlines are under both cost and environmental pressures, so this is driving the need for more efficient and new technology aircraft such as turboprops and newer generation regional jets.

Aircraft Leasing Solutions

Our specialised team of aviation & finance professionals can provide the optimum leasing solution for your aircraft requirements. We offer our clients three aircraft leasing solutions:

· Sale and Leasebacks on factory new or used equipment.

· Operating Leases   · Finance Leases

In contrast to buying an aircraft, leasing provides major benefits to airlines and aircraft operators including eliminating exposure to aircraft residual value risk and reducing the substantial capital investment required for aircraft acquisitions. Leasing enables airlines to concentrate on their core business, i.e. fleet operations, rather than aircraft ownership. Our experienced team is also well experienced in trading aircraft and end of life management for older aircraft.

Aerlinks provides investors in commercial Aircraft with a complete range of asset management activities. Our focus is on the regional aircraft market segment, which includes 50–150 seater equipment manufactured by Embraer, ATR, Airbus, and DeHavilland of Canada.
